PPKI PROJECTS

The four projects currently championed by PPKI are:

1. Sponsorship of Pusat Tuisyen Sinaran Impian (PTSI) Student Fees (Registration Number: BZ2D382)
PTSI, an established tuition centre since 2003 , has successfully helped and nurtured children (predominantly) from B40 households through their excellent teaching programmes. Despite the fees being kept to a minimum, student attendance has dropped around 50% due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Many students were forced to drop out due to the hardship faced by their families as a result of the pandemic.
PTSI’s core characteristics are:
  • KSSR & KSSM syllabus taught.
  • Dedicated and specialised teachers.
  • STEM curriculum to enhance essential skills.
  • Current state-of-the-art facilities that can accommodate up to 250 students.
PTSI success story:
  • Many of PTSI’s students are graduates, two are medical doctors, two dentists, some are nurses, flight stewardesses, engineers, etc.
  • Three present PTSI teachers are ex-tuition students who have graduated from local universities.
  • Every PTSI student is able to cope with classroom and social struggles because of extra classes provided to accommodate students with literacy challenges.
PPKI's partnership programmes with PTSI:
  • Tuition fee sponsorships for the less fortunate.

  • STEM Programme (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) to promote computational thinking.

  • Community based programmes to address social problems faced such as bullying (physical and cyber), internet addiction and sexual abuse.

2. PPKI Learning Club
The methodology of the Learning Club is to move away from emphasis on the school curriculum and towards enhancing knowledge and living skills of students.
  • Age Group : 7-12 years old
  • Student Criteria : We have adopted the concept of educating the LAST, the LEAST and the LOST. Students who cannot cope with their current grade in school because they are unable to read and write.
  • Target : Two groups of up to 20 students per two-hour session (morning and afternoon), five days per week.

4. PPKI Financial Literacy Programme
Many Malaysians struggle to manage their finances especially with their ‘live for today’ attitude increasing their vulnerability to the impact of any unexpected financial shock!
As we all know, the ability to make sound financial decisions is vital to our everyday lives. People across all ages and stages should be equipped to manage personal finances, invest wisely, and, if need be, borrow responsibly in line with their financial circumstances.
PPKI aspires to elevate the financial literacy of Malaysians by advocating responsible financial behaviour and a healthy attitude towards personal financial management. PPKI believes that improving the financial well-being of Malaysians will contribute productively to the building of a resilient and inclusive economy in the future. This can only be realised by joining forces to tackle the financial issues that many Malaysians are confronting.
We, at PPKI, laud the National Strategy for Financial Literacy 2019-2023 (National Strategy) introduced by the Financial Education Network, co-chaired by Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) and the Securities Commission Malaysia (together with its members) which aims at promoting financial education initiatives for Malaysians.
PPKI plans to collaborate with BNM as Implementation Partners in delivering the Financial Literacy programmes to different segments of society. This can be achieved by leveraging the materials produced by BNM and other established Malaysian FLP authorities. PPKI will also support as an Outreach and Communications body in promoting and creating awareness on the National Strategy and importance of financial literacy among Malaysians.
